RiverRock Battle of the Bands

A solid congratulations to the Winner of the Battle of the Bands, Those Meddling Kids! They will fill a reserved spot in the 2007 RiverRock Festival Line-up. This show was also a fund-raiser for the RiverRock Festival itself and turned out to be a tremendous success.

With over 500 people attending the show over the course of the night, it was a true demonstration of the power of music and potential support for keeping music alive in the area. Thanks to all who came to show your support and help us rock!

Blacksheep Troubadors drawing a diverse crowd with an organic sound, resonating positive vibrations with guitar, cello, accordion, beatboxing, socially-absorbing lyrics and contagious enthusiasm for their sound. BUS represent a heightened awareness of the people, places and blessings around them, with a live show that gets anyone with ears listening and moving.

  • Blount Harvey is an unforgettable 7 piece hip hop band combining skilled instrumentation with intelligent rhymes, soulful vocals, and next level DJ cuts. Heads nod, faces melt, minds get blown.

  • Mac and Juice are a two-man musical force generating from Greenville, NC. Formed in late 2000, the pair have performed religiously in and around their home market and are now expanding their creative entity, as well as their fanbase, to other regions. Their unique style has been coined "Eclectic Acoustic"- consisting of soulful original songs ranging from stories of love and loss to feel good fairy tales with structured harmonies and ever-changing improvisational segues. Their vast catalog of cover songs leaves no stone unturned, ranging from Motown to classic rock to outlaw country with a sprinkle of everything else in between.

  • Some say Jam Band, some say Folk Rock, and others just don't know how to describe them, but the best description said so far is Jam Island Country punkified rock hip-hop. One thing is for sure, Those Meddling Kids is great music.

  • The powerful trio from G-Vegas combines the musical influence of Blues, Classic Rock, Reggae, Gospel and many others to bring you a musical form that will bring the Blues to the next generation of musical pilgrims wandering in search of music that you don't just hear, but feel in your soul. To experience The James Beale Band is not to hear the blues, but to have it branded in your mind, searing your expectations of what the Blues is.

  • Forming in December 2006 in Greenville, NC, The Avenger started as a hardcore project with members coming together from their previous bands, Remember Eden, and Danger Ranger. Uninterested in the politics and economic machine that has been destroying the music industry, The Avenger was a fresh and dangerously physical five piece that was focused on intimate friendships, and spreading positive ideas throughout an extremely negative local scene. With their faith as their foundation, The Avenger made it known quickly that they devoted everything they did individually and as a band to their Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

  • There are undoubtedly so many other things that these guys could be doing, like focusing more on school and such, but they were called to something that they feel is so much greater than anything else they could be getting into right now. God has brought them together, in their current form, to spread His love and the good news of His Son to a scene of young people that is slowing dying from the inside out. There is something greater. There is something deeper. There is love.

  • The Get Down Sequence jams in your face with influences ranging from ping pong to the Police, and everything in between, these three gentlemen incorporate any musical style that suits their fancy. With such musical versatility coupled with a massive creative drive it won’t be too long before your telling your friends “I heard them first!”

  • The Greenville-based acoustic duo See You Tuesday (Erica Plouffe and Luke Whisnant) formed in November of 2006. SYT plays a mix of originals and cover tunes in a variety of genres: rock, folk, country, and roots, with songs from artists as diverse as Prince and Van Halen, to Nanci Griffith and Neil Young. They are currently working on their first CD.

  • JB and Jason are a two man acoustic group based out of Greenville and Raleigh NC. Influenced by modern melodic rock bands such as Pat McGee Band, Sister Hazel, OAR, and Big Head Todd, with the classic tones of Van Morrison, Crosby Stills and Nash, and the Allman Bros, they weave together layers of acoustic guitar and 2 part harmonies.
